Resumen

Depression constitutes one of the conditions that have had some increase in college students, with notable weight in future nurses. Depression can be associated with several causes, the most common responses to this diagnosis are sadness, anger and environmental stress. The study focuses on determining the prevalence of depression and establishing the risk conditions (RC) associated with depression (AD) in future nurses at the University of Lima-Peru, 2021. For the modeling and development, correlational, cross-sectional and two-stage research was used. In a first stage, the “Zung Self-Applied Depression Scale” was analyzed in 302 future nurses for screening and prevalence of depression and in a second stage in a stratified non-probabilistic sample of 73 future nurses, where the “CR AD Questionnaire” was applied, processing the data using Excel 365 and SPS v25 programs. In obtaining the processed results, the prevalence of depression was observed in the future nurses, of which they presented mild and moderate degrees. The personal and academic RCs have a moderate association with the presence of depression, while the social and family RCs have a weak association.
