Resumen
In the course of history, epistemological visions emerged for the methodological approach to the social fact. One that has gained legitimacy is "qualitative research." There is a polysemic diversity on this term, some call it an approach, others a paradigm, there are also those who call it a method. The purpose of the article is to examine the relevance of the denominations of approach, paradigm and method to refer to qualitative research. After carrying out a documentary review of books and specialized articles, it is postulated that it is not appropriate to call "qualitative research approach", "qualitative research paradigm" or "qualitative research method". It is appropriate to call it a qualitative methodological perspective.
