Abstract
The objective of this research was to determine the main difficulties faced by university teachers in the realization and publication of scientific articles. It is part of the positivist paradigm, with a non-experimental design of a descriptive type and with a sample of 100 teachers. To gather the information, a questionnaire was applied with a Likert scale. Among the results of the greatest difficulties in publishing is the scarce institutional support, the lack of training in writing and publishing, and the lack of academic incentives. In conclusion, the publication of scientific articles represents a challenge.
