Abstract

Research in fields of social science and education is ready for the text exploration revolution with Artificial Intelligence educational solutions. This article uses the three-dimensional Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis to explore essay number five, “The Religious Factor”, by José Carlos Mariátegui in his work Seven Interpretative Essays on Peruvian Reality in relation with the current Peruvian education system. Once we gathered and filtered the essay, we applied Natural Language Processing on its complete text. We wielded the theoretical framework of critical discourse analysis to analyse the text that expounds the culturally constructed representation of reality, the power circulation in the population and the reproduction of power via education. The results of the analysis displayed a subject position related to the Peruvian government allying with the Catholic Church to enjoy power relationship. Further research might reveal what level of alliance persists at present.
